Deeper and thicker mantels are available at additional cost. We finished it with rustic hand scraped finish or modern contemporary finish as well. We use solid 1 inch thick rough cut boards to assemble and carefully sand to retain natural blemishes and rustic appearance of the wood .The finish is hand rubbed to bring out all the distinct grain qualities and for a lifetime of maintenance free use. No fastening hardware is included you are getting just the beam as shown. These are fairly simple to install.
